Frequently asked questions
Q: What is a print?
- A print is a reproduction of an original painting. The color values tend to change, which causes a lack of depth and color.
Q: Why should I acquire an original work as opposed to a print?
- The thrill of it all! An original painting is a treasure - a "forever"
piece. The artist's brush actually touched the work you possess.
Q: Should I attempt to select colors to match my home decor?
- Perhaps to a certain degree, but really a piece of fine art should "stand on its own two feet". If it matches the room too closely it will never be noticed.
Q: Can minor changes be made to a finished painting?
- Yes, definitely. It can be fun to do so.
Q: How do I determine the size to acquire?
- It really doesn't make any difference what size if you like the painting. Obviously, a large area can accommodate a large painting, but I love to make a statement by placing a very large painting in a small area. I have seen a ceiling to floor painting in a small area, and it was wonderful.
Q: Is a frame necessary? Can I arrange to handle the framing myself?
- No. A frame is not necessary. Many people prefer an unframed look. Yes, you certainly can get it framed yourself or have a professional help you.
Q: What are my options if I do not like how the painting looks after hanging?
- You can return any painting if you decide against it and select another work to enjoy.
